Nintendo have announced three new SNES games heading to their Nintendo Switch Online service on July 28, 2021: Bombuzal, Jelly Boy, and Interplay’s 1993 “Blaze Processing” masterwork Claymates.
“Take on the role of Clayton, son of Professor Putty. Your father has made a breakthrough, and with the serum he’s created, living creatures can be turned into clay! You will face many dangers, but you have the ability to transform into five different animals. You’ll need them all to run, jump, fly, swim and climb your way past the obstacles in your path.”
Like their ClayFighter series, Claymates included actual clay animation in its gameplay, tasking you with transforming into a number of animals, including a cat, duck, mouse, guppy, and gopher, to navigate huge 2D levels.
Don’t scoff! I think the game was a bit of a sleeper…
