An Old Metroid Disk System Commercial Circa 1986

Samus Aran rides a disk

There was a time when Nintendo released a series of video games known as Metroid. That time has passed, but we still have relics from this bygone era.

Here, for example, is a commercial for the very first Metroid game ever, released on the Famicon Disk System in August 1986.

Now, rumor has it, Nintendo is still working on this series. But those are only rumors, and I have my doubts. If any evidence of the existence of a Metroid game ever appears again in the future, I’ll be sure to let you know.
