There’s nothing quite as terrifying as a possessed recliner that wants to eat you.
Straight out of New Zealand, horror-comedy Killer Sofa is about a seemingly ordinary chair that develops a bloodlust after falling for its new owner. A pair of detectives try to solve the case, enlisting the help of a Jewish Rabbi and a Voodoo sorceress. No, I didn’t make that up (or at least I don’t think I did).
The film has an alternative title, by the way: My Lover, My Lazy Boy.
“We need to find out where that recliner is.”
Killer Sofa is directed by Bernardo Rao, and stars Jed Brophy (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, District 9), Sarah Munn (Mortal Engines, Ghost in the Shell) Stacy King, and Harley Neville. It’ll arrive direct to DVD and digital next month, courtesy High Octane Pictures.
