A King Kong TV Series? Sure, Why Not?

Kong in silhouette from Skull Island

King Kong has been getting a lot of play these days, what with his recent film Kong: Skull Island, and a new attraction over at Universal’s Islands of Adventure called Skull Island: Reign of Kong. That’s not to mention his 3D cartoon, Kong: King of the Apes, on Netflix, or his upcoming battle with a giant laser-breathed mutant lizard in 2020.

That’s a lot to have on your plate, but Kong’s apparently not done yet. According to Deadline, MarVista Entertainment and IM Global Television are working on a live-action TV show called King Kong Skull Island, which will explore “the wonders and horrors” of Kong’s island home.

That’s not a whole lot to go on, so I’ll reserve judgment until we get more details. I do think it’d be better to deviate from the “Skull Island” naming convention, though. I mean, I get that’s his home town and all, but I’m starting to lose track over here.
