“When the Wesker kids move to New Raccoon City, the secrets they uncover might just be the end of everything. Resident Evil, a new live action series based on Capcom’s legendary survival horror franchise, is coming to Netflix.”
The show will feature a split timeline, the first showing 14-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker as they first arrive to New Raccoon City, and the second taking place years in the future, after the T-virus has wrecked havoc around the world.
In a follow-up tweet, Netflix added that the first season will consist of eight one-hour episodes “helmed by Andrew Dabb” (co-showrunner of Supernatural). Bronwen Hughes will direct the first two episodes.
Resident Evil on Netflix will follow two other Netflix video game adaptations: Castlevania and The Witcher.
