Do you hear that ominous subtle rumbling? Don’t worry; that’s just Paranormal Activity.
Deadline reports that Paramount+ will soon not only exclusively host the franchise’s upcoming seventh film, but also a new Paranormal Activity documentary. As Chief Programming Officer for ViacomCBS Streaming Tanya Giles said:
“A new Paranormal Activity from Paramount Players should bring fans an unexpected reimagining of the beloved horror franchise. We’ll also be launching a documentary on the making of the Paranormal Activity feature. Both of which will be coming to the service in time for Halloween.”
This is a bit ahead of schedule, as previously the seventh film was set to release some time next year.
While plot details have yet to be revealed, the next Paranormal Activity is written by Christopher Landon (who worked on Paranormal Activity 2-4 and wrote and directed The Marked Ones). Paranormal Activity creator Oren Peli is producing alongside Jason Blum, with Landon and Steven Schneider as executive producers.
The film will star Emily Bader, Roland Buck III, Dan Lippert, and Henry Ayres-Brown.
