Sony Pictures Entertainment have shared two new featurettes for Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, each highlighting the film’s main characters, Chris and Claire Redfield.
They’re pretty short. Here’s the vignette for Claire. Actress Kaya Scodelario describes her as “a rounded character [who] has her own journey…an absolute badass.”
Robbie Amell, meanwhile, takes on the role of Chris Redfield. In his words, “What’s really cool about our movie is that it is very much an adaptation of the games. It’s like I’m living in the video game and it’s really, really exciting.”
Update: Sony have also released vignettes for Jill Valentine and Leon Kennedy.
Director Johannes Roberts says this version of Leon, played by Avan Jogia, is a bit of an origin story, describing him as a “nerdy reluctant hero” whose characterization harkens back to the “original second game.”
And Jill Valentine — well, she’s “a little bit crazy.”
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City stars Kaya Scodelario, Robbie Amell, Hannah John-Kamen, Neal McDonough, Tom Hopper, and Avan Jogia. It releases in theaters November 24, 2021.
