Return to Burkittsville in Blair Witch (2019)

Ever wanted to wander the supernatural forests of Maryland with your dog? Indie developer Bloober Team’s Blair Witch might just be the horror game for you.

“It’s 1996. A young boy disappears in the Black Hills Forest near Burkittsville, Maryland. As Ellis, a former police officer with a troubled past, you join the search. What starts as an ordinary investigation soon turns into an endless nightmare as you confront your fears and the Blair Witch, a mysterious force that haunts the woods…”

Bloober Team is a Polish developer based in Kraków. Their previous works include Layers of Fear 1 & 2, as well as 2017’s Observer.

As for Blair Witch, I’m seeing mixed reviews at the moment, with some complaints about the game’s length and technical issues, though many seem to enjoy it. Those with Xbox Game Pass won’t have to think too hard about it, as the game is available for the service at launch.

Blair Witch is available right now on Steam (currently discounted to $26.99) and Xbox One (and, as mentioned, Xbox Game Pass).
