Two orphans are on the run from the Inquisition — and the plague — in Asobo Studio’s upcoming A Plague Tale: Innocence.
Players will find themselves traversing medieval France as Amicia De Rune, a young girl tasked with protecting Hugo, her younger brother. Hugo has some kind of “mysterious illness,” according to Plague Tale’s narrative designer Sebastien Renard, and there look to be more than a few surprises in the supernatural sense.
The game’s been getting a lot of good buzz ever since E3 2018. Described as linear and cinematic, with gameplay involving more evading than fighting head-on, comparisons have (rightly or wrongly) been drawn between it and The Last of Us.
We’ll see if it reaches quite that high when A Plague Tale: Innocence releases on May 14, 2019.
Watch out for the plague rats.
