The Godzilla Vs. Kong Trailer Is Finally Here

And here’s what everyone has been waiting for: The first Godzilla Vs. Kong trailer.

Godzilla’s having a bad day, so they’ve brought in Kong of Skull Island to try and set things right. But is everything as it seems? I’m guessing probably not. From the official synopsis:

“Legends collide as these mythic adversaries meet in a spectacular battle for the ages, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. Kong and his protectors undertake a perilous journey to find his true home, and with them is Jia, a young orphaned girl with whom he has formed a unique and powerful bond. But they unexpectedly find themselves in the path of an enraged Godzilla, cutting a swath of destruction across the globe. The epic clash between the two titans—instigated by unseen forces—is only the beginning of the mystery that lies deep within the core of the Earth.”

Unseen forces, huh? I’ll tell you one thing — no matter what happens, this movie looks like it’ll be a blast.

Kong takes a swing at Godzilla

King Kong dodges atomic breath

Think about this: King Kong has a battle axe, made with a piece of Godzilla, with which he can reflect the King of the Monsters’ infamous atomic breath. We’re officially approaching levels of goofiness I didn’t think the American MonsterVerse could handle.

Kong reflects Godzilla's atomic breath with an axe

Godzilla vs. Kong is directed by Adam Wingard, and stars Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, and Kyle Chandler. We’ll finally get the chance to see Kong and Godzilla throw down in theaters and HBO Max on March 26, 2020.

Godzilla is looking mighty angry

King Kong lets out a roar

Oh, and a possible spoiler if you missed it in the trailer.

For a very brief moment, you can see what looks like a certain robotic kaiju stomping his way through the city.

Hmm…

Mechagodzilla?
