Toho has revealed Godzilla’s latest project: Godzilla -0.0. That’s Godzilla Minus Zero. Up top is the official Title Reveal video.
No, the logo doesn’t say “Goo.” I mean it does and it doesn’t, but trust me, it’s Zero. The film will once again be written and directed by Yamazaki Takashi, but beyond that, we’ll have to wait for more details. Here’s the X post that set things off:
Godzilla’s been busy, don’t you think? According to Variety, at last year’s 96th Academy Awards, Godzilla Minus One became the first Godzilla film to win an Oscar and the first Japanese film to win in the Best Visual Effects category. The movie also made over 7.65 billion yen, with a worldwide box office of about $113,673,996 (check out my earlier post on Godzilla’s box office smashes circa 2024).
What else does Godzilla have on his plate? Godzilla x Kong: Supernova is set to release on March 26, 2027. A second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is also in production.
November 3 once again marked Godzilla Day, celebrating 71 years of the kaiju King of the Monsters. The original Gojira premiered in Japan on November 3, 1954. Happy birthday, Godzilla!
