That picture up there? Looks cozy, right?
It sure is, but just beyond those walls lies a world of gigantic insects and towering mushrooms. Smalland: Survive The Wilds takes players on an adventure through the “Land of the Small,” a world where tiny inhabitants do their best to brave the giant wilds.
Unlike the other popular shrinking survival game Grounded, characters in Smalland begin their lives tiny, and venture out into the monstrously large world after having stayed hidden for generations.
That means going for a ride on your gigantic grasshopper friend is a normal everyday occurrence.
Smalland’s most recent major update in April overhauled the game’s crafting system, and added the ability to personalize armor, along with a few other perks:
- Crafting stations can use materials from nearby storage containers
- Improved menu UI
- New building block types
- Crafting items that take time, as well as fuel requirements (with sliders to adjust settings)
- Landclaim totems that prevent other players from building in your area. Because STAY OUT!
You can also tame wild creatures like grasshoppers, geckos and scorpions. You’ll need all the help you can get, after all, being only a few inches tall.
Scorpion vs. Spider: Who will win? Probably not you!
The update also brings new items to the miniature table, including this ornate owl.
Smalland: Survive the Wilds is currently available on Steam, Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X|S!
