[Trailer] The Great Yokai War: Guardians

Coming Friday, August 13, 2021 to Japan is Takashi Miike’s fantasy adventure The Great Yokai War: Guardians.

“The Reiwa era is also called the “Great Yokai War!” A huge gathering of gorgeous yokai all-stars! Japanese Yokai, monsters of the world, even the strongest enemy, Yokai beast, and Daimajin, also appear! A transcendent fantasy battle begins! Go to the movie theater with everyone during Summer vacation!”

Guardians follows the journey of student Kei Watanabe, who finds himself thrown into the bizarre world of yokai, legendary creatures of Japanese folklore. It’s a sequel to 2006’s The Great Yokai War, and is distributed by Toho and Kadokawa Pictures.
